Public Mobile’s latest plan update: more data at the same price (offer ends March 2)
Public Mobile has refreshed its prepaid lineup with better inclusions at the same monthly price points. The biggest change is that they've increased the amount of data on their plans, which is a strong improvement if you were previously choosing between 30GB–90GB tiers.
All plan details below are from Public Mobile’s current plan lineup as of Friday, February 20, 2026. You can double-check availability and any fine print on the Public Mobile plans page.
What changed in this drop
Today, Public Mobile’s changes show up as a promotional price with more data, and mention that the offer ends March 2:
- Public Mobile at $35/mo changed from 30GB to 40GB. This is a Canada-wide plan.
- Public Mobile at $40/mo changed from 70GB to 100GB. This is a Canada-US-Mexico plan. Freedom Mobile is the only other carrier that offers this same plan setup at the same price point.
- Public Mobile at $50/mo changed from 90GB to 150GB. This is a Canada-US-Mexico plan. Freedom Mobile also is the only other one that offers this same plan setup at the same price point.
If you were already shopping in the $35/mo to $50/mo range, or were considering Freedom Mobile before, you now get a larger data bucket for the same monthly price and another option to choose from.

Public Mobile plans right now (February 2026)
Public Mobile’s current prepaid lineup includes a mix of 4G and 5G options. These are the plans currently listed.
Low-data plans (4G)
These are straightforward options for light users who mainly rely on Wi-Fi.
- Public Mobile 500MB for $20/mo (4G, Canada). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text and “2% back in Public Points.”
- Public Mobile 2GB for $23/mo (4G, Canada). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text and “2% back in Public Points.”
- Public Mobile 5GB for $26/mo (4G, Canada). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text and “2% back in Public Points.”
- Public Mobile 15GB for $30/mo (4G, Canada). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text and “2% back in Public Points.”
Mid-range plan (5G)
This tier is where the recent refresh is most noticeable.
- Public Mobile 40GB for $35/mo (5G, Canada). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text, 250 international minutes, and “2% back in Public Points.”
If you were previously comparing 30GB-class plans, the move to 40GB at the same price is a practical bump that reduces the chances you will run out of data in a typical month.
Large-data plans with roaming coverage (5G)
Public Mobile’s larger tiers currently include Canada-US-Mexico coverage.
- Public Mobile 100GB for $40/mo (5G, Canada-US-Mexico). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text, 500 international minutes, and “2% back in Public Points.”
- Public Mobile 150GB for $50/mo (5G, Canada-US-Mexico). It includes Unlimited Talk & Text, 1000 international minutes, and “2% back in Public Points.”
For many people, the $40/mo option is the key change because it jumps to 100GB while also adding roaming coverage. That is a bigger step up than the typical 10GB or 20GB bumps you often see between price tiers.

Important caveats to check before you switch
Public Mobile is prepaid, so the experience can be different from postpaid carriers. Before you commit (especially with an offer ending March 2), these are the main things worth confirming on the carrier site:
- Promo end date and eligibility. Public Mobile’s offer is advertised as ending March 2. If you are switching in, confirm whether the pricing applies to new activations only, and whether existing customers can change to the same plans.
- Roaming details for Canada-US-Mexico plans. The 100GB and 150GB plans list Canada-US-Mexico coverage and include US roaming. Confirm how roaming is applied (for example, whether it is automatic, whether there are usage limits, and any restrictions).
- Speed and network notes. The plans are labeled 4G Speed or 5G Speed. Even with 5G access, real-world performance depends on coverage, device, and network load.
- Hotspot and add-ons. Our plan data does not list hotspot as an included feature for Public Mobile plans. Many carriers still allow tethering even when it is not marketed as a feature, but you should confirm if hotspot matters to you.
Where to verify the deal
For the current pricing and the March 2 end date details, use the official Public Mobile plans page. If you are switching carriers, it is also worth checking whether you need a new SIM/eSIM and whether your phone is compatible with Public Mobile’s network.
